The 20th anniversary Taco Bell Viking Cup girls soccer tournament at Spring Valley begins Thursday with the usual quality field featuring 32 teams from across the state. All of the preseason top 10 teams in Class 4A are entered, as are six of the top 10 in 3A, the top two teams in 2A and the No. 1 team in SCISA.
Thursdays slate includes six matches featuring all 11 Midlands entries:

Flora (No. 5 in 3A) vs. West Florence, 6:30 p.m.; Cardinal Newman (No. 1 in SCISA) vs. Irmo (No. 7 in 4A).
Fridays first-round matches: Wando (No. 3 in 4) vs. Hillcrest, 5 p.m.; St. Josephs vs. Fort Mill, 6 p.m.; South Aiken (No. 4 in 4A) vs. Northwestern, 5 p.m.; Bishop England (No. 2 in 2A) vs. Riverside (No. 2 in 4A), 6 p.m.; Nation Ford vs. Mauldin (No. 5 in 4A), 6:30 p.m.; Seneca (No. 10 in 3A) vs. West Ashley (No. 9 in 4A), 5 p.m.; Hilton head (No. 1 in 3A) vs. J.L.
