Outlook: These teams are evenly matched in scoring, but senior guard Brown carries a heavy load for the Chiefs with an average 19 points per game. Hemingway, with its pressure defense, could pose a problem for Brown and the Chiefs, with its averages of 35.9 rebounds and 14.5 steals.

Lewisville Lions vs.

Whale Branch Warriors

Key Players: Whale Branch’s Simeon Middleton and Devonta’ Delaney; Lewisvillle’s Mardarius Bailey and Shakale Worthy

Outlook: The Lions had a rough start on a tough schedule, but came out strong — their strength is the fourth quarter, and they get clutch play from their short roster. Whale Branch’s strength is in its depth. Delaney and Middleton are the Warriors’ leading scorers, but Whale Branch has two other scorers averaging double-digits, and gets nearly 20 points per game off its bench.

Class 2A girls

Time: 2 p.m.

Keenan Raiders vs.

Bishop England Bishops

Coaches: Reggie McLain, Keenan; Paul Runey, Bishop England

Records: Keenan 16-6, Bishop England 23-3

Key players: Keenan’s Daisha Eddy and Keira Robinson; Bishop England’s Michele Boykin and Mary Harriet Moore

Outlook: Keenan needs a strong performance from its defense, led by pressure from DeMyra Rudder, to dampen the Bishops’ offensive production, which averages 60 points per game. The Raiders look to Robinson and Eddy to control the flow, with Robinson posting 21 of the team’s average 46 points. Moore leads the Bishops with 14.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

Class 2A boys

Lake Marion Gators vs. Newberry Bulldogs

Outlook: With two high-scoring teams and two deep benches, this matchup could feature a buzzer-to-buzzer offensive shootout. Booker, with fellow guards Jalin Alexander and Jaylen Reeder, paces the Bulldogs, while Williams and Khalil Hall give the Gators an inside advantage with a combined average of 16 rebounds.

Lower Richland Diamond Hornets vs. Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins

Outlook: Ritter and Dejoria Howard will contend with Diamond Hornets Breshay Johnson and Christian Brown to dominate the post. With the teams well-matched in scoring power, the battle at the boards might be the deciding factor. Lower Richland averages 31 rebounds per game to the Bruins’ 44.

Class 3A Boys

Hartsville Red Foxes vs. Eastside Eagles

Coaches: Aric Samuel, Hartsville; Tom Chamness, Eastside

Records: Hartsville 27-1, Eastside 25-3

Key players: Hartsville’s Jaylen Shaw and Devontea Washington; Eastside’s Keil Sherman and Davaris McGowens

Outlook: Hartsville has a big scoring advantage, with 78 points per game to Eastside’s 66, and a worrisome defense that pesters opponents to the tune of11 steals per game. That defense, led by Shaw and Washington, will be tough for the Eagles to get around. McGowens and Wesley Johnson will have the rebounding responsibility for Eastside.
