Cub scouts helping to put 600 new picnic tables at SC parks

Published: March 2, 2013

— U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson on Saturday helped Cub Scouts build the first of what tourism officials hope will be 600 new picnic tables at South Carolina state parks.

Wilson was at Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia Saturday morning to announce the “600 in 60” program that aims to put 600 picnic tables in parks by the end of April.

He was joined by Cub Scouts, who put together at least three tables, and by officials from Cox Industries Inc., an Orangeburg manufacturer of outdoor wood products.
