Youngsters from Hope Academy learned how a pig is barbecued over hot coals. The Golden and Proud senior group at the Gadsden Community Center sponsored a Black History Celebration for students from Gadsden Elementary and Hope Academy. Their mission was to let the students experience the heritage of their foreparents. There were displays of tools, household items, an outhouse, a smokehouse, and other lifestyle items.
