— Three people face drug charges, after an alleged meth laboratory was found in a West Columbia residence.

Jerald David Chase, 40, of Greenwood Drive, West Columbia; Jimmy Leon Marsh, III, 27, of Cathy Lane, Unit H, Lexington; and Betty Alice Nix, 32, of Norman Drive, Unit B, West Columbia, each were arrested Tuesday on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it, Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said Wednesday.

Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) acted on a tip and arrived at Nix’s Norman Drive residence around 5:20 p.m., Metts said. There was a strong chemical odor, Metts said, and a search yielded materials used to manufacture methamphetamine,

Chase, Marsh and Nix were awaiting bond hearings at the Lexington County Detention Center.
