Back in October, just before the election, Jack Welch (former CEO of GE) and other prominent Republicans claimed that the Obama administration was lying about economic data and, in particular, had fudged job and unemployment figures.
Now that several more months of data have confirmed that the economy is continuing to improve at a slow, but relatively consistent, rate, one would expect Welch et al. to issue public apologies and admit that they, not the president, were attempting to mislead voters. I won’t be holding my breath.
