The Olympia Cemetery Association has raised money for improvements to the fence along Granby Lane.
The group met recently with officials from Lindau Chemical Co. and the Olympia Community Festival Association to thank them for their total of $8,000 in contributions. Vulcan Materials previously had donated stones for pillars at each entryway to the cemetery, matching the original cemetery gate.
The cemetery association is responsible for the care, upkeep and management of the historic Olympia Cemetery in the mill village at the edge of Columbia.
