BOOK LAUNCH: June M. Gardner’s book “The Sojourners” spans nearly 1,000 years and traces the travels of the Russ family. The book focuses on Edward Jones Russ, who is the great-grandfather of Gardner’s husband. The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Cross Central Church, 1773 W. Main St., Lexington. SPEAKER AT THE CENTER SERIES: Hosted by the South Carolina State Library’s Center for the Book, USC Press and Hub City Press, the series takes place during lunch and features a variety of authors.
