Six face charges in unemployment fraud

— Six people have been charged with fraudulently receiving unemployment benefits, the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce’s (DEW) Office of General Counsel announced Monday.

The six are accused of receiving unemployment benefits of more than $10,000 to which they were not entitled, the department said in a news release. Those charged are:

— Sharon E. Gilmore, 41, of York County

— Janie D. Gilstrap, 55, of Greenville County

— Mario D. Gonzalez, 53, of Greenville County

— Thomasina D. Hicks, 28, of Pickens County

— Daryl T. Jefferson, 36, of Sumter County

— Thomasenia H. Shivers, 56, of York County
