Siren testing this week at Jenkinsville nuclear plant

Published: March 12, 2013

Sirens near South Carolina Electric & Gas Company’s nuclear plant in Jenkinsville will be tested Wednesday and Thursday.

Alarms within 10 miles of the facility will sound for 90 seconds periodically between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. both days.

It’s a required check on equipment that would notify nearby residents of a leak at the facility.
