LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC — A test of limited bus service to and from a complex housing Lexington County health services will start April 1.
Plans call for three trips daily one in morning, one at midday and one in the afternoon to and from the complex at 1070 S. Lake Drive in Red Bank.
The one-hour trip will start in downtown Columbia and run through Cayce, West Columbia and Lexington, with a stop at Lexington Medical Center.
Fare will be $1.50 per trip, discounted to 75 cents for seniors and special needs riders.
The test will continue through June 24, with ridership determining whether it will be extended.
The route was set up after requests for public transportation to the site, county community services director Ron Scott said.
