Unbeaten White Knoll passed its second biggest test of the early softball season in Tuesday, downing Dutch Fork 3-1 on the road to take the early high ground in Region 5-4A.
The Timberwolves (8-0, 3-0) got a game-winning two-run triple from Lydia Trexler, two hits by Caroline Brown and a solid pitching performance by Savannah Terrapin, who out-dueled DF ace Hayley Elkins to run her record in the circle to 6-0.
Jenna Elkins had two hits off Terrapin for the Silver Foxes, who dropped to 3-1 overall, 2-1 in region matters.
Both teams have Thursday region games on tap White Knoll at South Aiken and DF at home against Lexington before taking part in the Wildcat Invitational tournament hosted by Lexington at the Pine Grove Sports Complex.
