Benedict is one of three programs from the state of South Carolina headed to the NCAA Division II men’s basketball tournament.
For the first time, USC Aiken will host the eight-team Southeast Regional at the 3,600-seat Convocation Center in Aiken. USC Aiken, the regular-season and tournament champion from the Peach Belt Conference with a 22-7 record, is the top-seeded team in the regional.
USC Aiken will play eighth-seeded Belmont Abbey on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Limestone, at 21-8 and the regional’s fifth-seed, will play fourth-seeded Wingate at 7:30 p.m.
The regional’s first two games on Saturday pit third-seeded Barton against sixth-seeded Montevallo at noon, and second-seeded Lincoln Memorial against seventh-seeded UNC Pembroke at 2:30 p.m.
Semifinal games will be played Sunday at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m.
