Why are some members of Congress always looking to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to make up the deficit in other areas? We have federal employees who are making unbelievable salaries. The 2,000 top managers of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are making more than $200,000 a year; this is just one example of wasteful spending. These salaries are ridiculous and should be cut.
Those who lived on a fixed income or are not able to provide a living for themselves should not bear the brunt of the ignorance of those in office. If all federal employees were made to work until the age of 65 and draw Social Security as their retirement, this issue would not be brought up for a vote ever again.
Had the government kept its sticky fingers off of Social Security, there never would have been concern about it going broke.
