Dutch Fork girls

The Silver Foxes have begun their program with a 3-5 record. Dutch Fork’s first roster is a mash up of young players new to the sport and experienced leaders — including seniors Ruchi Desai, Lizzy Watkins and Kaitlyn Miller.

Blythewood girls

Since lacrosse became a sanctioned team sport in South Carolina, Rick Piersma’s Bengals have been at the forefront. But last season, the Bengals’ playoff run stopped short when they were defeated 13-7 by Fort Mill in the second round. This year, they look to return to the top with leadership from seniors Courtny Hance and Peyton Wiseman.

A.C. Flora boys

The Falcons were the top local seed in last year’s boys tournament but exited the playoffs in the first round. This year, they return 10 seniors and their experience already is paying off with a 4-1 start.

Hammond boys

The Skyhawks are 5-0 and at the top of their class. They have outscored opponents 26-5 thus far, led by Charlie Black and Mathew Kay.

Chapin girls

The Eagles did not make it into the postseason last year, but they seem destined for a lengthy season this year. Despite losing several key players to the new Dutch Fork squad, Chapin is 8-0 and leads the league. They are led in scoring by Kathryn Mirgon, Erin Landry and Alexis Comose.
