Firefighters put out fire that destroyed an extended stay hotel building at 150 Stoneridge Drive in Columbia.

Brick Lewis — CRFD

— Fire swept through building nine at the Affordable Suites hotel complex at 150 Stoneridge Drive on Saturday.

The eight suites in building nine were destroyed while units in the adjacent building 10 sustained some heat damage, fire department spokesman Brick Lewis said.

The fire call from the extended stay hotel off Greystone Boulevard came in to the Columbia-Richland Fire Department around 4 p.m., Lewis said.

Five of the eight suites in the destroyed building had tenants at the time. Hotel management has moved all tenants in building nine and 10 to other suites in the complex, Lewis said.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire and dollar amount of the damage is still under investigation, Lewis said.
