LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC — A 38-year-old SC Department of Corrections officer has been charged with criminal domestic violence after an incident at his Lexington County home.
James David Morgan is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center under $5,000 bond.
According to an incident report, Morgan attempted to question a woman in his home about her whereabouts when he began angry, tried to take her cell phone away and “threw her down onto a couch and held her....”
The 6-2, 235-pound Morgan then stopped his actions and went out on the front porch and sat down so as to prevent his having any further contact with the woman, who called the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
Two school-aged children saw the incident, according to the report.
On a booking report, Morgan gave his religion as “Christian.”
