RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Filing opens at noon Friday for candidates running in a June 4 special election for Richland 1 school board, district spokeswoman Karen York said.

Candidates for the at-large seat may file at the Richland County Elections and Voter Registration Office, 2020 Hampton St. There is no filing fee.

The filing period ends at noon April 1.

The winner replaces the late Barbara Scott, and will serve the remainder of her term, through 2016.
