— A woman said to be harassing customers and employees at a car dealership north of Columbia was arrested after she bit an officer Wednesday night, officials say.

Rosa Yolonda Samuel, 45, was arrested Wednesday after trespassing and assaulting a deputy with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at the JT’s Kia off Killian Road, department spokesman Curtis Wilson said.

Witnesses told deputies Samuel had earlier appeared to be filming employees and customers inside the store. When she was asked to leave by deputies responding to the scene, Samuel refused.

When deputies attempted to arrest and handcuff Samuel, Samuel lunged at a deputy, biting him on the forearm and breaking the skin.

The deputy was treated by emergency medical services. Samuel was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

She has been charged with trespass after notice, assault on a police officer while under arrest and threatening the life of a public official.
