Big doings Saturday at Camden, Flora

March 22, 2013

Despite a less-than-favorable weather forecast, two popular sports festivals are on tap Saturday at Midlands schools – Dogfest at Camden’s Legion Field and Super Saturday at A.C. Flora.

The Dogfest event sponsored by May Plant Credit Union features varsity and junior varsity baseball and softball doubleheaders against archrival Lugoff-Elgin. The varsity baseball game is at 10 a.m. with the softball varsity contest ay 12:30 p.m. The junior varsity games will follow the varsity games.

The event is more than just games, it is a community gathering that features food from area restaurants and activities for fans of all ages.

A.C. Flora hosts its annual Super Saturday gathering as a fundraiser for the school’s athletic program.

The busy slate features a varsity baseball game pitting Flora against Lexington, the top-ranked team in Class 4A. The other games on tap on campus are boys lacrosse (9 a.m.). girls lacrosse (11 a.m.), boys soccer (1 p.m._ and girls soccer (3 p.m.).
