Horry County schools helping fire victims, provide a way for others to donate

Published: March 23, 2013

— Myrtle Beach area schools have joined the effort to help those affected by last weekend’s fire in the Windsor Green development of Carolina Forest.

They have been collecting donations, assisting students and staff directly affected and planning fundraisers – providing ample opportunities for those who want to help to get involved.

Donations may be made by going to Carolina Forest Elementary School’s web page on the district’s website. Go to www.horrycountyschools.net, select Our Schools from the navigation bar, then select the school’s name from under Elementary Schools.

In addition, those in the area can stop by any branch of the Conway National Bank. An account has been established at the bank for those who want to make a donation to the Horry County Disaster Relief Fund-Carolina Forest. Donors may designate that their donations be distributed to HCS students and staff, while undesignated contributions will be used to support the needs of everyone affected by the fire. Donations are tax deductible.
