Corporations are not in business to provide jobs; they are in business to make a profit. They hire employees for the sole purpose of making a product or providing a service. Yet, President Obama complains that corporations have money in the bank and are not hiring anyone, which shows how little he knows about business. Without additional demand for products or services, there is no need for additional employees.
Bureaucrats do not have to worry about returns on investments or investors, and they do not have to worry about how expenses are to be paid. Their only worry is about keeping their government jobs or trying to get re-elected. They can hire people without consequence.
Many European countries have huge bureaucracies, and now they are virtually bankrupt. They wanted to be all things to all people, and now their citizens are paying the price of an insolvent government.
Our politicians use our money for giveaways so they can get themselves re-elected. They probably will not be around when the United States has to face the same decisions that European nations face now.
I am now retired, and I have seen the best of what the United States can be. Now we are far from it. We have too many people with their hands out and too many politicians willing to give handouts.
We have become a society predicated on what government will do for me to get my vote.
