Cold snap remaining in Midlands

March 25, 2013

With another freeze warning for the Upstate, winter refused to turn over control of the weather to spring.

The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning as far south as Saluda, Laurens and Union counties for early Tuesday. Temperatures were expected to near freezing in Richland, Lexington and Kershaw counties.

In the first 25 days of March, Columbia has registered 17 days with lows in the 30s or lower. Last year, there were only four days in the 30s or lower the entire month of March in Columbia.

Morning lows are expected to remain in the 30s through the end of the week.
