Step right up

McKissick Museum will host a symposium at 5:30 p.m. on “Step Right Up! Sideshows in America,” an exhibit that opened in January. The symposium will feature presentations on the cultural and social history of the sideshow. Featured guests include Robert Bogdan, professor at Syracuse University; Kathy Maher, curator and executive director of the Barnum Museum; and James Taylor, publisher of Shocked and Amazed, a sideshow publication. Fresh art

The Freshniz, the fifth volume of the live magazine experience presented by the local art crew Izms of Art, will be held at the Arcade Mall at 6 p.m. The featured artists: theater artist Kimi Maeda; actress Vicky Saye Henderson; musician and visual artist Rasadon; and the champions of the local hip-hop community Non Stop Hip Hop Live.
