Irmo town leaders nix pay raise for themselves

April 3, 2013

— Town Council members turned down a $1,800 yearly pay raise, saying they’re paid enough.

The increase suggested by consultants was rejected late Tuesday.

So the salary of Mayor Hardy King remains at $6,600, and that of the four council members stays at $4,200, amounts officials say were set 20 years ago.
