The Bible provides a definite imperative to love God and our neighbor. But there does not seem to be any support of same-gender marriage. I have friends on both sides of this issue, and they are neighbors to be loved and respected. But I am not convinced that Holy Scripture supports same-gender marriage. The U.S. Supreme Court ought to tread softly in these deep waters.
The chief rabbi of France notes that the Genesis account in the biblical story of man and woman is a loop of protection for children — and of the protection of heterosexual marriage, which is for many of us the roadmap for happiness, fulfillment, service and a promising future.
