jwilkinson@thestate.comApril 10, 2013

— The Irmo High School Junior ROTC will hold its annual 24-hour “death march” to raise money for Honor Flight and educate the public on the sufferings of World War II veterans who were in the Bataan Death March.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, cadets will march a route around Irmo High School for 24 straight hours, rain or shine, without food or water in two-hour shifts.

Money raised will help send World War II veterans to Washington, DC, for free to see their memorial.

Donors purchase luminaries that light the cadets path during the march. Donation is $5 a bag.
