Columbia, SC — If marriage were a right, then I could marry my cousin or sister, as long as we are of legal age. But I can’t.
Why not multiple wives, or husbands, if it’s a right?
Why not marry my widowed mother as a second wife, so she is covered by a health benefits package, if it’s a right?
If marriage is a right, then why can’t I marry my children, or even my father?
Can it be moral grounds, or arbitrary, “because I said so”?
