White Knoll closed out the regular season and bagged the outright Region 5-4A softball championship with a 9-7 win over archrival Lexington on Thursday.
Megan Anderson led the Timberwolves with three hits, while Kelsey Campbell and Meghan Brantley rapped two safeties apiece. Savannah Terrapin was the winning pitcher, raising her season record in the circle to 13-3.
White Knoll closed the region season with a 19-6 overall grade and a 9-1 region record. The seventh T-Wolves will be the No. 1 seed in the District 5 playoffs that are scheduled to begin on April 25. WK will be the host team as long as it keeps winning.
Lexington (15-8, 5-5) will be the No. 3 seed in District 7.
Dutch Fork, which nipped North Augusta 3-2 in nine inning in its Region finale on Thursday to finish 8-2 in conference matters, is the No. 2 seed in District 8 and assured of a first-round home game.
North Augusta is the last 5-4A qualifier, and is the No. 4 seed in District 6.
