Crandall C. Bowles, chairwoman of Springs Industries Inc., has been named a 2013 Laureate by the South Carolina Business Hall of Fame. Bowles, who has been with the company since 1973, was named chief executive officer in 1982. She became co-chairwoman and co-chief executive officer of Springs Global U.S. Inc. and Springs Global Participaceos S.A. in 2006 when the company merged with a Brazilian textile firm. In addition, Bowles has been a member of the company’s board of directors since 1978. Established in 1985 by Junior Achievement of Central South Carolina, the South Carolina Business Hall of Fame honors the state’s businessmen and women who serve as champions of free enterprise and role models for future business leaders.
