RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Firefighters with the Columbia Fire Department worked to contain a residential fire northeast of Columbia Monday night.
The fire occurred around 6 p.m. at a home on Webb Court in a neighborhood between I-277 and Two Notch Road, department spokesman Brick Lewis said.
Arriving on the scene, firefighters could see heavy smoke and fire from the front of the home, he said. No one was injured in the incident.
Damages have been estimated at $75,000. The fire is believed to have been caused by discarded smoking materials, Lewis said.
