Midlands People & Achievements: SCE&G

April 24, 2013

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has presented SCE&G with the 2013 EnergyStar Award of Excellence for its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The utility achieved the reduction by sponsoring consumer education efforts that promote energy-efficient products. In addition to improving energy efficiency, the award is given to an organization that reduces pollution and energy costs. SCE&G was recognized for its Home Performance with the EnergyStar program that began in April 2011. By participating in the program, consumers can receive rebates up to $2,500 for making home energy improvements.
