Jelly Belly tour bus coming to Peanut Man locations
Want to taste the latest flavors of Jelly Belly jellybeans? Then head on over to The Peanut Man this weekend. The bus will be pulling up to the Village at Sandhill location (471 Towncenter Place) noon-4 p.m. Saturday and then in the Vista (1215 Lincoln Street) 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Some of the flavors include Tabasco, Snapple and the Mystery Bean Flavor. Kids will enjoy facepainting, games, balloons and more.
FOLKFabulous showcases Cherokee Indian foods
USC’s McKissick Museum celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Jean Laney Harris Folk Heritage Awards with a festival 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday on the Horseshoe. In addition to the folk arts, the Native American Indian and Cherokee Cafe will offer traditional foods such as fry bread, meat pies, roasted corn, Indian tacos and Cherokee foods such as bean bread and chestnut bread.
In addition to these delicious treats, Joe Turkaly, executive chef at Kraken Gastropub and Chef d’Cuisine at RB’s Bodacious Barbecue will be serving up Carolina Chicken Bog.
Wine Down Wine Tastings
Wine Down on Main is hosting a wine tasting 6-8 p.m. this evening featuring a selection from Donati Family Vineyards. Mark Donati will be presenting the wines. $5 per person.
On April 30, Tony Cartlidge of Cartlidge and Browne (St. Helena, California) will present six wines paired with different dishes of food, at 6 p.m. Tickets $20 per person. Wine Down on Main is at 1520 Main Street, (803) 673-4810.
Sustainability and Agriculture Mini Conference is May 1
Sustainable Carolina marks is own food summit with a look at what’s happening with sustainable agriculture in business in the Columbia area. This mini-conference is for people interested in or want to become involved in the local competitive environment of sustainable agriculture and/or the Columbia community food systems. Conference is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. May 1 at Lumpkin Auditorium at the Moore School of Business, 1705 College St.
Free bagels at Breugger’s on Thursday. Breugger’s Bagels locations and Children’s Miracle Network Hospital celebrate 30th anniversaries with free food and fundraisers.
