National Take Back Initiative sponsoring prescription drug drop-off sites in Midlands

Each year, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency partners with state and local police to collect unwanted prescription drugs.

This year’s event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There are nine drop-off locations in the Midlands.

Richland County

USC Division of Law Enforcement and Safety headquarters, 1501 Senate St., Columbia

Richland County Sheriff’s Department headquarters, 5623 Two Notch Road, Columbia

Columbia Police Department headquarters, #1 Justice Square, Columbia

Fort Jackson Main Exchange, 4110 Moseby St., Fort Jackson

Forest Acres Police Department headquarters, 5205 North Trenhold Road, Forest Acres

Lexington County

CVS drug store, 5608 Sunset Blvd., Lexington

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department headquarters, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington

Kershaw County

Elgin Town Hall, 2469 Main St., Elgin

Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, 821 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff
