CAROLINA RIVER CONNECTION: Basic canoe, sea/rec and whitewater kayak instruction and rentals. Five guided trips for all levels of paddlers, including half day, full day and overnight trips. CONGAREE NATIONAL PARK: Join a park ranger for a 2.4-mile, dog-friendly hike Saturday at 2 p.m. Park staff host two free butterfly programs: Butterfly Identification Training, June 8 from 9-11:30 a.m.; and the annual NABA Butterfly Count, June 15 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Advance registration is required. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, water and a bag lunch. Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Harry Hampton Visitor Center park hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. SESQUICENTENNIAL STATE PARK: The park hosts a Wild Neighbors Walk May 19 at 2 p.m. for ages 5 and older. Take a casual stroll along Sesqui’s half-mile Jackson Creek Nature Trail.
