Monday letters: Why would men support Sanford?

April 29, 2013

I read in an April 21 story, “Will women abandon Sanford,” that men are more likely to support Mark Sanford than women. I don’t understand why.

Men should know that had Sanford been in the military when he deserted, he would have been court-martialed. If he had worked in the private sector, he would have been fired and given poor recommendations to any potential employers.

So why would thinking men support a person of so little personal or professional integrity? It makes no sense.
