Myrtle Beach man’s shorts stolen during robbery

Myrtle Beach police charged two men in connection with a robbery early Monday where the victim was knocked unconscious and had his shorts stolen, according to a police report.

Narada Dashawn Pickett, 21, and David James Welch, 18, both of Myrtle Beach were charged with strong armed robbery in the incident reported at 4 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Flagg Street, police said.

The men were being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail pending a bond hearing, according to jail records at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday. They were taken into custody by police about two hours after the incident in the same area.

The 50-year-old victim told police that he was walking to his truck when he saw the men, who were in a dark colored sedan, drive by slowly, according to the report. The victim said a short time later three people approached him from behind, surrounded him and began to hit and kick him.

The victim said he was knocked out and woke to find the shorts he had been wearing were stolen, according to the report. Inside the victim’s shorts pockets were his wallet, a cell phone, debit card, cash and identity card.

Officers noted the victim had dried blood on his face and left ear, according to the report. No other details were listed in the report.
