Going out for Chesney, baseball this evening? Wear rain gear

May 4, 2013

— Kenny Chesney and university baseball fans should prepare for a cool, wet evening.

The Columbia area could get about a quarter-inch of rain late this evening, with temperatures getting down to the mid-50s, said Tim Hawks, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Columbia.

“With the clouds and the rain and the wind, it’ll probably feel colder,” he said.

Hawks said to expect “steady rain” for about an hour, sometime before midnight.

“The deeper moisture comes overnight into Sunday,” he said, with up to an inch of rain on the way.
