Monday letters: Every home needs protection

May 6, 2013

Columbia, SC The lawmakers of our state are trying to pass laws allowing guns in public places. Innocent victims are being killed every day. Every home should be allowed guns to protect the family. You aren’t safe going to church, grocery shopping, getting gas and driving, much less at home. Our law enforcement is overworked and underpaid, and most don’t have protective vests.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent to beat Jake Knotts so we could have another lawmaker who wants to train school employees to shoot and arm them with weapons. SLED Chief Mark Keel advises against this. Most teachers only want to teach.
