Richland Co. collecting recyclables at SC State Fairgrounds

— Start gathering up broken electronics for an all-day recycling event on Friday, May 17.

Richland County residents can bring household items to the S.C. State Fairgrounds, 1200 Rosewood Drive, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for disposal. Bring a driver’s license to prove residency.

Items to be accepted include:

•Tires (limit of eight)

•Computers, stereos and TVs

•Household electronics

•Microwave ovens

•Telephones, including cellphones

•Scrap metal

•Paper documents for shredding
