I read where some politicians want to double the number of high-tech visas allowed so Apple, Microsoft and other high-tech companies can hire foreign workers. The number is now capped at 65,000.
I don’t understand why they would do that since we have around 12 million U.S. citizens still unemployed. I believe there are a lot more than 65,000 who are qualified to fill those positions.
Or could it be that the companies wanting to hire the foreign workers will pay them a lot less in wages?
