Forest Acres voters will elect two on Tuesday

dhinshaw@thestate.comMay 12, 2013

— Tuesday, voters in Forest Acres elect two City Council members from a field of six candidates.

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Forty-year council veteran Shell Suber is seeking re-election. The late Charlie Fetner held the other council seat for 35 years before bowing out this spring. He passed away last week.

City officials have said they’re looking for a higher-than-usual turnout in the suburban community with 7,711 voters.

Candidates in the nonpartisan election are Suber, Ralph Bailey, Jack Cantey, Albert Epstein, Paige George and Beau Powell.

The top two vote-getters win. There will be no runoff.

Here’s where to vote:

• Cooper and East Forest Acres precincts – Brockman School, 2245 Montclair Drive

Keenan and North Forest Acres precincts – Trenholm Park, 3900 Covenant Road

• Gregg Park and South Forest Acres precincts – Crayton Middle School, 5000 Clemson Ave.

• Arcadia, Oakwood, Trenholm Road and Satchelford precincts – Satchel Ford Elementary School, 5901 Satchelford Road

Voters need to bring a voter registration card or picture ID.
