Boil water advisory issued for residents near Chapin High School

— An 8-inch water main break in Chapin has prompted Columbia Water Works officials to issue a boil water advisory for customers on a one-and-a-half mile stretch of Columbia Avenue between Ellett Road and Interstate 26.

City of Columbia water customers in the affected area should boil vigorously any water used for drinking, making ice or cooking at least 60 seconds before use. Residents near the effected area who experienced any drop in or loss of water pressure should follow the same precautions. until further notice.
