Monday letters: We need truth about Benghazi

May 20, 2013

The fact that the woman who wants to be our next president royally screwed up by not providing adequate protection for our people in Benghazi is a big story. Add to that the fact that no help was sent to rescue our people during the attack, and then a coverup was begun by President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Benghazi is a major scandal, which the liberal news media have largely ignored.

The latest congressional hearings provided more evidence that President Obama, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice and Secretary Clinton deliberately misled the American people about the nature of the Benghazi attack. Gregory Hicks testified that he was stunned and embarrassed by Ambassador Rice’s false testimony about an anti-Muhammad video causing a spontaneous attack on the consulate, and that Rice did not talk to him before her appearance on five television shows. Also, someone decided not to send help to rescue our people in Benghazi, although it was available.

U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy did a great job in his questioning, while the House Democrats disgracefully attacked the GOP. We definitely need to hear Hillary Clinton and Ambassador Rice testify under oath again, and we must find out who gave the order to the U.S. Special Forces in Tripoli to stand down. Finally, someone needs to inform President Obama that in America we do not leave our people behind to be murdered by the enemy.
