Brent Nelsen , chairman of the ETV Commission since 2011, has been nominated by President Barack Obama for the board of directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The corporation, established by Congress in 1967, is the steward of the federal government’s investment in public broadcasting. Nelsen, a professor of political science at Furman University, served as chairman of the Department of Political Science at the university from 2003-2009. In addition, he was president of the South Carolina Political Science Association from 2009-2010 and currently is a member of the American Political Science Association.
