The athletic booster club at Brookland-Cayce High is being reorganized after a fuss over how its money was handled, Lexington 2 officials said Wednesday.
A review of club finances found no wrongdoing but suggested changes in its financial management to prevent misuse, school officials said in a statement.
The club was disbanded this spring for not following district rules while school officials looked into complaints about its operation, the statement said.
Mistakes were found but did not constitute criminal misappropriation of money, Lexington 2 lawyer Jake Moore said.
School officials are tightening procedures to prevent problems as new leadership for the club is put in place shortly, the statement said.
