SUMMER READING KICK OFF: The Lexington County Public Library, Irmo branch, 6251 St. Andrews Road, kicks off its summer reading program from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, and the Gilbert-Summit branch, 405 Broad St., Gilbert, kicks off its program from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday. STORYFESTSC 2013: The South Carolina State Library sponsors the state’s summer reading program kick-off event Saturday at the South Carolina State Museum, 301 Gervais St. from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The event features presentations by authors Peter Brown and Will Hillenbrand, storytelling sessions, a Readers Theater presentation and craft area.
