online@thestate.comMay 27, 2013

A fire Monday night caused more than $50,000 in damages to the Hooters restaurant on Two Notch Road, fire officials say.

A passerby reported the fire at the building about 8 p.m., according to Columbia Fire Department spokesman Brick Lewis. Fire crews were nearby and were able to knock the fire out before it severely damaged the restaurant. No one was injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Richland County Fire Marshal's Office.
