Midlands People & Achievements: Jessie Manley & Judy Smith-Irvin

Jessie Manley has been honored by the Midlands Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association as the 2013-2014 Woman of the Year. Manley is a project engineer with Cayce-based energy giant SCANA, and has been a member of the association since 1977. Judy Smith-Irvin also has been honored by association as the Midlands Chapter 2013-2014 Business Associate of the Year. Smith-Irvin is retired from the S.C. Department of Social Services, where she served as supervisor of adult and children services. In 2012, she founded the non-profit organization Reaching Out to God’s Children, which helps young adults with financial assistance for books and school tuition.
