Observer Staff ReportsJune 6, 2013

— Police were called to River Gate Elementary School in southwest Charlotte on Thursday morning when two adults got into a fight at a kindergarten end-of-the-year ceremony.

No one was seriously injured and no children were involved in the “physical altercation,” said Tahira Stalberte, spokeswoman for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and the CMS police department responded, she said.

End-of-year student recognition ceremonies are continuing, she said.
